Chapter 20 - Crowned in Her Own Right

Two years later.

The Chateau de Chantilly outside Paris was bathed in the warm golden light of a summer sunset.

The grand gardens were filled with international dignitaries, world-renowned architects, artists, and close friends. White roses lined the outdoor aisle leading toward a magnificent floral arch overlooking the lake.

Music played softly—a beautiful violin melody echoing through the ancient trees.

I stood behind the grand carved wooden doors of the chateau, wearing a breathtaking custom ivory lace wedding gown with a long flowing train. My dark hair was styled in elegant soft waves, crowned with a delicate diamond tiara.

Beside me stood Dominic Romano, looking regal and handsome in his formal morning suit.

He looked at me, his eyes filled with tears of profound pride.

"You are the most beautiful bride this world has ever seen, star," my father whispered softly, his voice trembling slightly with emotion.

"I wouldn't be standing here without you, Dad," I said, squeezing his hand gently.

The grand doors swung open.

The guests stood up, applauding softly as my father walked me down the long white aisle.

At the end of the aisle stood Julian Thorne, looking exceptionally handsome in a sleek black tuxedo. As he looked at me walking toward him, tears of joy welled in his eyes, his smile radiant and full of pure, unconditional love.

When we reached the altar, Dominic gently placed my hand in Julian's.

"Take care of my star, Julian," Dominic said softly, his voice thick with emotion.

"With my life, Don Dominic," Julian replied solemnly, taking my hand in his.

The ceremony was intimate, warm, and deeply emotional. As we exchanged our vows, promising to honor, respect, and cherish each other as equals for the rest of our days, I felt a deep, unwavering peace settle into every corner of my soul.

"By the power vested in me," the officiant announced with a bright smile, "I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride!"

Julian pulled me gently into his arms, kissing me deeply while the entire crowd broke into joyous, thunderous applause.

Flowers rained down from above as we walked back down the aisle together, hand in hand, surrounded by love, light, and laughter.

That evening, during the grand reception under the stars, Julian and I danced our first dance on the glass floor over the lake.

As I looked up at my husband, feeling his strong, warm arms holding me close, I thought about the long, painful journey that had brought me to this moment.

I had survived the ultimate betrayal. I had survived broken bones, dark basements, and venomous lies. I had stripped my enemies of their power and reclaimed my life, my name, and my dignity.

I was no longer just a survivor. I was a conqueror.

I leaned my head against Julian's chest, smiling as the music carried us into the warm summer night.

My past was shattered. My present was glorious. And my future was limitless.
