CHAPTER 35: THE STRIKE OF THE SHADOW CLAW

Part 1: The Gathering of Shadows
Though her attempt to force a geothermic overload at the Altar of the Old Gods had been thwarted by Kaelen and Valeria, Anacaona’s retreat was not a surrender. Driven mad by her festering ambition and the corrupting influence of the dark moon tà thuật, she fled down the eastern ridge of the Andes.
She did not head for the safety of the distant jungles. Instead, she rallied a radical, hidden splinter cell of corrupted moon-priestesses and native outcasts who had long harbored a hatred for both the Castile occupiers and the peaceful Sun Cult.
"They think they have won because they saved their precious stones," Anacaona hissed, her fingers twitching as pale-purple energy crackled across her nails. The dark energy of the U Minh Trảo(Nine Yin Skeleton Claws) was eating away at her spirit, turning her eyes a cold, soulless violet. "But the alliance is weak, resting in the valley below. We will strike them while they celebrate, and tear the heart out of their rebellion."
Below the high peaks, in the lush, narrow valley of the northern passes, the encampment of the six rescued sects was wrapping up their evening prayers. They believed they were shielded by the natural barriers of the mountains and the strength of Kaelen's Sun Cult.
They were wrong.
Part 2: The Screaming Claws
SWOOSH.
The silent mountain night was suddenly shattered by a barrage of pale-purple magical energy bolts. They rained down from the steep canyon ledges, exploding upon the wooden structures and supply wagons of the encampment.
"Ambush!" Yara’s voice bellowed through the rising smoke.
She rolled out of her leather tent, her recurve bow already pulled tight. Without hesitation, she fired a succession of three phosphorus arrows up toward the dark cliffs, illuminating the incoming attackers.
"It’s the corrupted moon-priestesses! Secure the elders!"
Anacaona descended like a vengeful specter, her dark purple cloak flowing behind her. Her hands were fully enveloped in the terrifying, ghostly claws of the U Minh Trảo.
With a savage leap, she tore through the defensive lines of the Sun Cult skirmishers. Her dark energy claws cut through shields and weapons like brittle dry wood, leaving behind deep, burning purple scars that festered with necrotic cold.
"Protect the young disciples!" the High Abbot of the Ironclad Order shouted, raising his heavy iron staff to block a sweeping strike from Anacaona.
BANG!
The collision of her dark claws and his iron staff sent a jarring shockwave through the dirt. Despite the Abbot's immense strength, the corrupted spiritual pressure of her tà thuật threw the old master backward, his staff crackling with dark frost.
Part 3: The Solar Aegis
"Your era is over, old man!" Anacaona screamed, raising both her clawed hands to deliver a lethal, finishing blow to the fallen Abbot.
"Not while the sun still shines," a resolute voice declared.
From the shadows of the valley entrance, Kaelen lunged forward. He moved with the blinding, explosive speed of his fully awakened Solar Core. He did not use the Dragon’s Fang; instead, he relied on the absolute kinetic defense of his grandfather Geronimo’s "Thái Cực" hand circles.
He thrust his hands forward, creating a massive, shimmering dome of golden-orange solar energy that completely enveloped the fallen Abbot and the surrounding disciples.
CRASH!
Anacaona’s purple dark claws struck the golden barrier. The extreme temperature difference between her necrotic moon magic and Kaelen's volcanic solar heat triggered a violent, blinding explosion of light and steam.
"Kaelen!" Anacaona shrieked, her dark eyes flashing with a mix of terror and manic fury as the sheer heat of his defense singed her purple robes. "You cannot protect them all! The Empire's fleet is already at the border, and I will tear down everything you build!"
"I am not just protecting them, Anacaona," Kaelen said, his gold-flecked eyes glowing with a calm, absolute strength as he expanded the golden shield, pushing her back into the darkness. "I am ending this cycle."
May you like
With a powerful wave of his arms, Kaelen discharged a non-lethal, massive shockwave of solar-kinetic energy. The force of the blast blew away the thick purple mist and scattered the remaining moon-priestesses, forcing Anacaona to retreat once more into the high, rocky peaks.
The valley was saved, but the desperate counter-attack proved that the shadow within their own ranks was far from gone, and the main armada was drawing closer by the hour.
