Chapter 18 - The Horizon Beckons

Six months after the trial, Michael Vance officially announced a complete restructuring of his personal life and corporate empire. He sold the Titan's Horizon, declaring he would never step onto a luxury mega-yacht again.

Instead, he used the multi-million dollar proceeds from the sale to establish the Horizon Maritime & Aerospace Academy—a state-of-the-art educational facility built directly on the San Diego waterfront.

The academy was designed to provide full academic scholarships in marine engineering, robotics, and aerospace science to children from working-class fishing and port families.

On the opening day of the campus, hundreds of local families gathered near the docks. Banners fluttered brightly in the wind as Michael stood at the podium before news cameras.

"This academy was built on a simple principle," Michael spoke into the microphone. "That extraordinary dreams can come from anywhere, and that sometimes, the person who saves the future is the kid standing right beside you selling ice cream."

The crowd erupted into enthusiastic applause as Mateo stood beside him, wearing an official academy cadet uniform.
