CHAPTER 39: THE WRATH OF EL DORADO

Part 1: The Dark Eclipse
The sky above the Grand Canyon turned the color of bruised iron. Blocking out the midday sun, the main Castile armada sailed through the high mountain clouds in a rigid, terrifying wedge formation. Twelve massive, iron-clad pháo đài bay (flying dreadnoughts) cast an artificial twilight over the red cliffs.
At the center of the fleet sailed the flagship Malakor's Wrath. Its copper induction rings spun frantically, humming with a deafening screech as they bled a cold, necrotic blue frost into the desert air.
"This is their entire aerial force," Yara said, her fingers white around her recurve bow as she stood on the eastern watchtower. Beneath her feet, the electromagnetic iron-veins of the canyon walls vibrated in protest. "If we don't activate the shield now, their runic cannons will reduce the sanctuary to ash in minutes."
At the central Sun Temple, Kaelen stood before the ancient basalt pedestal that tapped into the continent's deepest geothermal ley-lines. The Dragon's Fang rested bare upon the altar. Its matte-black obsidian blade thrummed, its internal orange magma line pulsing in perfect sync with the frantic heartbeat of Kaelen's Solar Core.
Beside the blade lay the Heart of El Dorado—the brilliant golden sun-crest given to him by the Sun Maiden.
"Do not rush the flame, my boy," Grandmaster Geronimo's calm voice echoed from the inner sanctum. He stood beside Leon and the recovering Anacaona, his hands tracing a wide, slow circle in the air. "The Castile engines run on siphoned runic wind. If you activate the shield too early, they will simply reverse their thrust and escape the field. We must pull them deep into the throat of the canyon."
Part 2: The Binding of the Three Nodes
"Fire!" a cold, mechanical voice echoed from the sky.
Malakor’s flagship unleashed its first devastating barrage. Massive, pale-blue runic ice spheres plunged from the sky, detonating against the outer sandstone spires of the gorge. Giant shards of unmelting glacier ice shattered across the temples, sending dust and debris raining down on the huddled native disciples.
"We cannot wait any longer!" Yara screamed, leaping onto her stone pedestal at the eastern cliffs. "Eagle Tribe, release the lightning-lines!"
With a unified shout, dozens of native archers released their copper-woven arrows into the stormy sky, anchoring them to the lower hulls of the leading dreadnoughts.
On the western gate, the disciples of the six sects—led by the High Abbot of the Ironclad Order and Abbess Melantha—began their rhythmic, kinetic chanting. They channeled their residual spiritual energy directly into the canyon's iron-rich red walls, creating a powerful, localized magnetic vortex that began to drag the heavy iron hulls of the flying ships downward into the narrow gorge.
"Now, Kaelen!" Geronimo roared. "Shatter their winter!"
Kaelen knelt before the basalt altar. He did not hesitate. He picked up the golden sun-crest of El Dorado and pressed it directly into the circular hilt of the Dragon's Fang.
CLACK.
The mechanical fit was perfect. An blinding, liquid-gold geothermic energy erupted from the crest, wrapping around the obsidian blade like a nest of fiery serpents.
With an primal roar of absolute, iron-clad resolve, Kaelen grabbed the hilt with both hands and drove the Dragon's Fang deep into the basalt pedestal's central socket.
Part 3: The Golden Dome of Atacama
BOOM!
The entire Andes mountain range seemed to heave.
A colossal pillar of pure, white-hot solar-geothermal energy erupted from the Sun Temple, piercing the dark storm clouds and shattering the artificial eclipse. From the deep red cliffs of the Grand Canyon, millions of tiny, glowing iron-sand particles rose into the air, caught in a massive, swirling magnetic field.
Within seconds, a gargantuan, impenetrable dome of golden-orange electromagnetic energy locked over the entire valley.
The effect on the Castile fleet was instantaneous and catastrophic.
The moment the golden shield locked, the high-frequency electromagnetic field completely disrupted the delicate runic wind-induction cores of the flying dreadnoughts. The spinning copper rings along their keels groaned, their pale-blue lights flickering violently before turning a chaotic, unstable shade of orange as the reversed geothermic feedback overloaded their systems.
"The engines... they are melting!" an imperial captain screamed from a nearby deck.
One by one, the massive, iron-clad flying ships lost their gravity-defying lift. Their heavy copper conductors exploded in brilliant, blinding chain-reactions of blue and gold fire. The iron dreadnoughts began to tilt wildly, colliding with the sheer sandstone walls of the canyon before plunging into the misty, burning ravines below.

Malakor's Wrath shook violently, its forward runic cannons shattering under the immense thermal feedback. On the burning flagship deck, Malakor looked down at the glowing Sun Temple, his face contorted in a mask of absolute horror and defeat as his life's work disintegrated in the golden gaze of the desert.
The winter of Castile had been broken. The ancient, sleeping forces of El Dorado had answered the call of the Sun Cult, and the path to the final dawn of the New World was wide open.
