Chapter 8 - The Breach

"Who is doing this?" Julian shouted, the data streams shifting rapidly.
"It's not an entity," Leo said, his voice grim. "It's the system itself. It’s purging the unauthorized."
The room began to vibrate. The holographic projections flickered, and the air crackled with static.
"What does that mean?" Julian yelled, trying to shut down the interface.
"The system is designed to destroy anyone who tries to seize control," Leo said, his voice calm, even as the room began to collapse around them. "It's a self-destruct mechanism."
Julian realized his mistake. He hadn't been chosen to be the master; he had been chosen to be the fuse. The Auditor wasn't a person or an AI—it was a trap.
"We have to get out of here!" Julian shouted, grabbing Leo’s arm.
"We can't," Leo said, his eyes fixed on the collapsing interface. "The exit is locked until the purge is complete."

Julian looked at the terminal, his mind racing. He had one chance. He could divert the system's power, overload it, and force it to reboot. It would destroy all the data, all the power, all the control.
"Do it," Leo said, as if reading his mind. "Burn it all down."
