Chapter 4 - The Boardroom Showdown

Ten minutes later, I sat at the head of the walnut conference table on the fiftieth floor, looking out over the sprawling Manhattan skyline. The double doors banged open, and Daniel stormed in, his tie askew, his chest heaving with rage.

"Have you lost your mind?!" Daniel roared, slamming his hands onto the table. "Showing up here? Threatening my staff? Do you think you can walk out of prison and blackmail me?!"

I didn't blink. I slowly spun my pen across the table. "Sit down, Daniel. You're shouting like a cornered animal."

"I'll have you arrested! Violation of parole! Extortion!" he screamed.

"Go ahead," I replied calmly. "Call the police. Tell them you want to explain to the DA why the original security server footage shows Vanessa staging her own fall. Let's see how Wall Street reacts when the truth comes out."

Daniel froze. The color drained from his face as he realized I held all the cards. "What do you want, Eleanor? Name your price."

"Not money, Daniel," I whispered, leaning forward. "Justice."
