Chapter 10 - CRIMSON AND GOLD

One year later.

The morning sun was warm and golden as it filtered through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the newly

renovated penthouse office of Sterling-Vance Logistics—now officially renamed Sterling Global Shipping.

Evelyn stood by the glass, holding a steaming cup of chamomile tea. She looked out over the sparkling harbor,

where massive cargo ships bearing the silver Sterling logo were gliding smoothly out to sea.

At her feet, one-year-old Lily was crawling happily on a plush cream rug, playing with a set of wooden stacking

rings. She was healthy, happy, and possessed her mother’s bright, determined eyes.

The door to the office opened quietly, and Charles Sterling walked in, holding a folder of quarterly reports. He

looked at his daughter and granddaughter, his face softening into a proud, warm smile.

"The Q3 numbers are in, Evie," Charles said, placing the folder on her desk. "We’ve completely recovered the

losses from the Vance era. In fact, our domestic shipping volume is up forty percent. You’ve done an incredible job

as CEO."

"Thank you, Dad," Evelyn said, walking over and hugging him. "I couldn't have done it without you."

"You did the hard work, my girl," Charles said, looking down at Lily, who was now babbling happily. "You

survived the storm, and you built an empire from the mud."

Evelyn sat down at her desk, picking up Lily and placing her gently on her lap. She looked at the polished silver

frame on her desk. It held a photograph of her, her father, and Lily taken on a bright, sunny beach in Hawaii a few

months ago.

There was no trace of the cold, freezing rain. No trace of the mud.

She had taken the very tools her enemies had used to try and destroy her, and she had used them to build a

fortress of love, security, and absolute triumph.

Daniel and Vanessa were locked away in concrete cells, forgotten by the world they had desperately tried to

conquer. But Evelyn was here, surrounded by family, wealth, and a future as limitless as the ocean outside her

window.

She looked down at her daughter, kissing her soft forehead.

"We made it, sweet girl," Evelyn whispered. "The storm is over. And our story is just beginning."
