Chapter 19 - The Harvest of Truth

The reception was held at Bellwether, which had been closed to the public for the evening to celebrate the occasion.

Warm chandeliers floated above the room, casting amber light across tables laden with magnificent food prepared by Chef Henri. The live string quartet played soft, cheerful melodies, and laughter filled every corner of the fourteen-table dining room.

Martin stood near the bronze entrance, raising a glass of champagne to toast the newlyweds. "To Mr. and Mrs. Grant Vale! May your home always be blessed with quiet peace, deep truth, and endless love!"

"To Grant and Maya!" the guests cheered in unison, clinking their glasses together.

During the reception dinner, Grant stepped away from the main table for a brief moment, walking over to the window where his journey had begun. He looked out at Nob Hill, remembering the night Sienna had splashed water into his face, believing he was a penniless loser.

Maya stepped up beside him, sliding her arm through his and resting her head against his shoulder. "Thinking about the past, my love?"

Grant smiled, wrapping his arm around her waist. "Just remembering that every storm brings a harvest, Maya. If Sienna hadn’t revealed her true nature that night, I might never have cleared my life to find you."

"Everything happens for a reason, Grant," Maya whispered softly. "Truth always finds its way home."

Just then, Marcus walked over carrying a small, sealed envelope. "Excuse me, Mr. Vale. A delivery messenger dropped this off at the front desk a few minutes ago. It’s addressed personally to you."

Grant took the plain white envelope, opening it gently. Inside was a handwritten note on simple stationery:

Dear Grant,

Congratulations on your wedding today. I saw the announcement in the local paper. Dr. Maya Lin is a truly beautiful and honorable woman, and I know she will make you very happy.

I wanted you to know that I have officially completed my probation today. I have been promoted to full-time coordinator at the Daly City Community Center. Every day, I help working mothers find affordable childcare and housing. For the first time in my life, I go to sleep feeling genuine peace.

Thank you for being the man who showed me the difference between looking expensive and having real value.

Wishing you a lifetime of happiness,

Sienna Brooks

Grant read the letter with a quiet, warm smile. He folded the paper neatly and placed it in his pocket.

"A good message?" Maya asked gently.

May you like

"A very good message," Grant replied softly. "Someone found their bedrock."

Hand-in-hand, Grant and Maya walked back to the head table to join their family and friends for an evening of joyous dancing, warm toasts, and celebration.
