Chapter 11 - The Pandora's Box

The charred lockbox recovered from the upstate hunting lodge was transported under heavy armed guard directly to the secure vault of the Sterling Tower. Forensic technicians and digital forensics experts worked around the clock under Clara’s direct supervision to extract the encrypted solid-state drives and water-damaged ledgers inside.
By sunrise, the results were laid out across the mahogany conference table like a map of a criminal syndicate. It wasn't just corporate embezzlement or real estate fraud; the Blackwood Global files detailed a sprawling, international web of political blackmail, judicial bribery, and orchestrated corporate takeovers that spanned three continents.
"They didn't just steal companies, Julian," Clara said, pointing a laser stylus at a massive holographic data-flow chart projected onto the boardroom wall. "They engineered economic collapses in emerging markets, manipulated municipal zoning laws through paid politicians, and eliminated anyone who threatened their monopoly—including my father."
Julian stood beside her, his arms crossed, his face grim as he studied the names scrolling down the screen. Among the digital records were encrypted financial transactions linking sitting senators, federal judges, and international banking executives directly to Blackwood Global's primary slush fund.
"If we release this data to the public without a containment strategy, it will trigger a global financial panic," Julian warned quietly. "Wall Street will crash, international markets will freeze, and governments will fall."
"Let them fall," Clara replied without a second of hesitation, her voice cold and absolute. "An empire built on lies and graves deserves to burn to the ground so something real can be built in its place."
Just as she reached for the encrypted master console to initiate the global data dump, the boardroom’s heavy double doors burst open. Marcus Vance’s former defense attorney, a sharp-suited senior partner named Jonathan Drake, marched into the room flanked by two federal marshals.
"Miss Sterling, stop what you're doing right now," Drake demanded, holding up a federal injunction signed by a senior district judge. "This court order prohibits the unauthorized release of classified corporate intelligence under national security statutes."
Clara didn't even look up from her console. She typed three rapid keystrokes, executing a final macro command.
*Enter.*
A progress bar on the massive holographic screen surged from zero to one hundred percent in less than three seconds. A notification flashed: **GLOBAL TRANSMISSION COMPLETE. DATA SENT TO 4,500 INDEPENDENT MEDIA OUTLETS, INTERNATIONAL REGULATORY BODIES, AND ENCRYPTED PUBLIC LEDGERS.**
Drake froze, his jaw dropping in sheer, unadulterated horror as his smartphone began to buzz frantically in his pocket, followed immediately by every other phone in the room ringing simultaneously.

"You... you just committed federal treason," Drake whispered, his face turning ghostly pale as he stared at the screen.
"I just delivered justice," Clara said calmly, standing up from her chair and buttoning her suit jacket with absolute, unshakeable poise. "Welcome to the new world, counselor. Try to keep up."
