Chapter 20 - The New Beginning
As night fell over the city, Leo and Chloe walked up to the rooftop terrace of Vance Global Tower.
The air was crisp and cool, filled with the gentle hum of the vibrant city lights below. Stars twinkled brightly in the clear night sky above.
Leo walked over to the edge of the glass railing, looking out at the horizon where his journey had begun.
From a quiet boy bullied in a high school hallway with coffee poured over his face, to a global visionary who had reshaped thousands of lives... he had conquered every storm without losing his soul.
Chloe walked up beside him, slipping her hand into his.
“What are you thinking about?” she asked softly.
Leo looked down at their intertwined hands, then looked back out at the city.
“I was thinking about that day in the hallway,” Leo said quietly. “When Brad poured that coffee on my laptop.”
Chloe looked at him, curious. “Do you ever wish it didn't happen?”
Leo smiled gently, shaking his head. “No. That day taught me something valuable. It showed me that people will try to dump their darkness onto you when they feel small. But you don't have to swallow their darkness. You can turn it into light.”
Leo reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, sleek platinum key drive—the newly redesigned universal key for Aegis 2.0.
He held it up to the starlight.
“My father always told me that true strength isn't about standing above everyone else,” Leo whispered softly, looking up at the stars. “It’s about making sure that when you reach the top, you leave the ladder down for others.”
Chloe leaned against his side, resting her head on his shoulder as they stood together under the endless starry sky.
The quiet boy in the grey hoodie had spoken his final words to the past.
