Chapter 15 - The Solarium Confrontation

By 4:30 AM, the quiet night air inside Suite 401 was broken by the powerful, unmistakable cry of a newborn baby.
"He's here!" Dr. Elena Vance announced joyfully, lifting a beautiful, healthy seven-pound baby boy onto Khloe's chest. "Born at 4:32 AM! Perfect Apgar score, strong lungs, and absolutely gorgeous!"
Khloe gathered her son into her arms, weeping tears of pure, unbridled joy. She pressed her face against his soft, warm head, smelling the sweet scent of new life. All the pain, all the fear, all the physical trauma of the past two months vanished instantly, replaced by an overwhelming, infinite wave of motherly love.
"Look at him, Uncle Robert," Khloe sobbed happily, looking up at her uncle who was standing beside her with tears in his own eyes. "He's so strong..."
"He is perfection, Khloe," Robert whispered, reaching out to gently touch the baby's tiny fingers, which immediately clamped around his thumb with surprising strength. "Welcome to the world, Ethan Hayes Thorne."
Two hours later, after Ethan had been nursed, weighed, and swaddled in a soft white blanket, Khloe was moved to the glass solarium suite on the top floor—a beautiful, sunlit room surrounded by indoor botanical gardens and wide views of the snow-covered city skyline.
She requested a brief meeting with Marcus before leaving for her country home.
Marcus stepped into the sunlit solarium alone. He wore a simple coat, his eyes red from staying awake all night in the lobby. He stopped near the glass entrance, looking at Khloe who sat in a comfortable plush armchair, holding the swaddled baby in her arms.
"Come closer, Marcus," Khloe said gently. "You can meet your son."
Marcus felt his throat tighten. He walked slowly across the polished floor, stepping up to her chair. He dropped to one knee beside her, looking down at the tiny baby boy sleeping peacefully in the blanket.
"He... he looks just like your mother," Marcus whispered, his voice shaking uncontrollably as a teardrop rolled down his cheek. "He has her soft nose."
"His name is Ethan," Khloe said. "Ethan Hayes Thorne."
Marcus reached out a trembling finger, hovering inches above the baby's soft cheek, afraid that touching him might ruin the moment.
"You can touch him," Khloe said softly.
Marcus gently stroked the baby's cheek with his finger. Ethan let out a tiny sigh, nuzzling closer to his mother's warmth.
"Khloe..." Marcus sobbed quietly, bowing his head near her knee. "I know I don't deserve to be in this room. I know I destroyed our marriage. But thank you... thank you for letting me see him."
"Ethan deserves to know his father, Marcus," Khloe said, her voice clear, strong, and completely devoid of bitterness. "As long as you continue to work on yourself, stay honest, and respect our boundaries, you will always be welcome in his life."
Marcus looked up at her, seeing no anger, no hatred, no lingering pain in her eyes—only the calm, majestic beauty of a mother who had conquered her past and reclaimed her future.
"I signed the final divorce decree this morning with your attorneys, Khloe," Marcus stated, pulling a stamped court document from his coat and setting it on the side table. "You are completely free. The penthouse, the foundation, the country estate, and the legal guardianship of Ethan are one hundred percent yours."
Khloe looked at the document, then back at Marcus. "Thank you, Marcus. I wish you peace."
May you like
"I wish you happiness, Khloe," Marcus said, standing up slowly. "You are the greatest woman I have ever known, and my biggest regret will always be that I was too blind to realize it when you were mine."
He leaned down, kissed his son's forehead one last time, turned, and walked out of the solarium, leaving the door open to the warm morning light.
