Chapter 15 - Rising Tide

Six months later, the Manhattan skyline was clear and bright under the crisp autumn sun.
At the Hudson Yards development complex, hundreds of reporters, architects, and city officials had gathered for the official unveiling of the Sterling-Vanguard Tower—the world's first fully self-sustaining, zero-emission skyscraper, built using Amy's father's bio-concrete technology.
Amy stood at the podium on the grand stage, dressed in a stunning emerald green dress that showcased her absolute confidence and beauty. Beside her stood Julian, looking striking in a navy suit, his eyes filled with immense pride as he watched her speak.
"Three years ago, my father dreamed of a city that built with nature rather than against it," Amy declared into the bank of microphones, her voice ringing clearly across the plaza. "Today, that dream becomes reality. This building stands not as a monument to profit, but as a testament to integrity, resilience, and the power of truth."
The crowd erupted into thunderous applause. Flashbulbs went off in a blinding wave of light.
In the front row, Marcus Vance smiled warmly, wiping a tear of pride from his eye.
After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Amy and Julian walked away from the media frenzy, taking a quiet moment inside the glass atrium of the new skyscraper. Sunlight filtered through the multi-angled glass panels, creating breathtaking geometric patterns on the marble floor.
"You were incredible up there," Julian said, wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her close against his side.
"We were incredible," Amy corrected, resting her head gently on his shoulder. "We built this together, Julian."
"Speaking of building things together..." Julian said, his tone shifting into something softer, slightly nervous.
Amy raised her head, looking at him curiously. "Julian? What is it?"
Julian took a deep breath, reaching into his inner jacket pocket. He pulled out a small, velvet box.
Amy's breath caught in her throat. Her hands flew to her mouth.
Julian took a step back and dropped down onto one knee on the polished marble floor of the grand atrium.
"Amy Sterling," Julian began, his voice deep and filled with intense emotion. "When I first saw you walk down that aisle at Millbrook, stripped of your veil, exposing the truth to the world, I saw the strongest, most miraculous woman I had ever met. Over the past six months, I've watched you rebuild your life, your legacy, and my broken faith in love."
Julian opened the box. Inside sat a magnificent, conflict-free emerald-cut diamond ring, sparkling radiantly under the sunlight.
"I don't promise you a fairytale without storms," Julian whispered, looking directly into her eyes. "But I promise to love you, honor you, fight for you, and stand by your side through every single storm we face. Will you marry me, Amy?"
Tears of pure, unadulterated joy welled up in Amy's eyes. The contrast between her past horror in Room 237 and this moment of complete, authentic love was overwhelming.

"Yes!" Amy cried out, her voice echoing through the bright atrium. "Yes, Julian! A thousand times yes!"
Julian stood up, slipping the diamond ring onto her finger before lifting her up off her feet and spinning her around in his arms. As their lips met in a passionate, loving embrace, the sun shone brightly through the glass roof, illuminating a brand new chapter built on absolute trust.
