Chapter 26: The Siege of Raven Lake

The digital strike was only the opening salvo.

By nightfall, the federal net had begun to tighten. Local police jurisdiction was abruptly overridden by a federal multi-agency task force, and a convoy of armored tactical vehicles rolled down the private oak-lined driveway of Raven Lake Lodge, cutting off all communication lines and jamming local cell towers.

"They're locking us down," Daniel announced, his screens flickering as encryption protocols failed under brute-force cyber attacks. "We've got federal marshals at the north gate, and black-ops extraction units moving through the treeline on the south ridge."

Frank grabbed his shotgun, racking a shell with a definitive clack. "They want to play federal raid? Let's show 'em how we handle trespassers."

"Hold your fire, Frank," Jack commanded, his tone absolute. "These aren't corrupt cops like Vance's men. These are federal operators following direct orders from a manipulated chain of command. If we open fire on them, we validate every false charge in that dossier."

"So what do we do, Jack?" Ethan asked, standing firmly beside him. "We can't just surrender."

"We don't surrender," Jack said, slipping his silver wolf pendant securely under his collar. "We expose them on our own terms."

Jack turned to Caleb and Daniel. "Daniel, you have twenty minutes before they breach the firewall. Upload the unredacted Operation Omega files—every single proof of agency corruption, framing, and illegal arms tracking—to every independent news server and public transparency portal in the country. Make it impossible to delete."

"Done in ten," Daniel nodded furiously, fingers flying across the keys.

"Caleb, get Sarah out through the underground drainage tunnel behind the boathouse," Jack ordered. "Keep her safe."

"I'm not leaving you, Jack," Sarah's voice echoed firmly as she walked into the command center, holding a heavy vintage hunting rifle with absolute steadiness. "I spent twenty years hiding from ghosts. I'm not running from cowards tonight."

Jack looked at her, stunned, before a proud, grim smile touched his lips. "Stubborn as ever."

Heavy concussive charges suddenly exploded against the front oak doors of Raven Lake Lodge. Splintered wood and white smoke billowed through the grand hallway as flashbang grenades illuminated the red emergency lights.

"They're breaching!" Frank roared, taking cover behind a stone pillar.

The final battle for Raven Lake had begun. But this time, they weren't fighting for land or money. They were fighting for the truth—and for a family that nothing in this world could ever tear apart.
