Chapter 20 - Where the Rain Ends

Later that evening, long after the gala speeches and applause had faded, Graham and Evie walked together down Chestnut Street toward Rittenhouse Square.
A soft, gentle rain was falling over the city, glowing amber under the warm streetlamps. The city was quiet, peaceful, and full of soft night melody.
They stopped at the exact corner where they had met fifteen years ago.
The old closed storefront was now a bright, bustling twenty-four-hour community bakery operated by the foundation, its windows glowing with warm yellow light and filled with fresh bread.
Evie pulled two wrapped warm pastries from her bag, handing one to Graham.
"Hungry?" she asked with a playful twinkle in her eyes, echoing her exact words from that cold night.
Graham laughed—a rich, hearty sound that echoed down the quiet street.
"Always," Graham replied softly, taking the pastry.
They sat together on a warm wooden park bench under the gazebo, watching the rain drops ripple in the streetlights.
Graham reached out and held his daughter’s hand. He looked up at the night sky, feeling Elena’s presence all around them, wrapped in love, warmth, and complete peace.
