Chapter 15 - The Final Nail in the Coffin

"That... that is fabricated! Deepfake technology!" Marcus roared, leaping to his feet, his face turning bright crimson. "He’s manufacturing evidence to silence legitimate opposition!"

"Is it a deepfake, Marcus?" Grace spoke for the first time, her voice ringing crystal clear across the auditorium, carrying the weight of absolute authority. She stood up from her seat, walking calmly to the center of the stage.

She tapped her tablet, and a new file appeared on the massive screen: a recorded phone call between Marcus Vance and the lead mercenary, captured by federal wiretap at 2:00 AM.

The audio played loud and clear for the entire auditorium to hear:

*“Just make sure Whitmore and that damn maid don't make it to the morning vote,”* Marcus’s voice echoed across the speakers. *“Burn the files, wipe the servers, and make it look like a break-in gone wrong. I want total control of Whitmore Enterprises by noon.”*

The silence in the auditorium was absolute. You could have heard a pin drop on the carpeted floor.

Federal marshals, accompanied by agents from the Department of Justice, walked down the center aisle of the auditorium in full uniform. They bypassed the stunned security guards, climbed the steps of the stage, and stopped directly behind Marcus Vance.

"Marcus Vance," the lead federal agent announced loudly, pulling out a pair of steel handcuffs. "You are under arrest for conspiracy to commit murder, securities fraud, wire fraud, and obstruction of justice."

Marcus stood frozen as the cold steel cuffs snapped around his wrists. He glared across the stage at Grace with eyes full of pure venom.

"You... you haven't won," Marcus hissed through clenched teeth as the marshals hauled him toward the exit. "The board still controls forty percent of the voting shares! You’ll never survive the afternoon vote!"

Adrian watched him go without emotion. He turned to the remaining board members, who were now trembling in their seats.

"Does anyone else wish to challenge the leadership of Whitmore Enterprises?" Adrian asked quietly.

Not a single hand went up.
