Chapter 19 - The Hunt for Grace

Adrian Whitmore slammed his fist down onto his executive desk so hard the heavy mahogany cracked. His face was a mask of sheer, unadulterated terror and murderous rage.

"What do you mean she’s gone?" Adrian roared at the head of corporate security, who stood trembling before him.

"We found her car in the lower garage, sir," the security chief reported, his voice shaking. "Her phone was left on the concrete. Security cameras show she was ambushed by two professional operatives and forced into a black van with cloned plates just twenty minutes ago."

Adrian’s breath hitched in his throat. The cold, calculating billionaire facade shattered completely, replaced by the primal fury of a man whose entire world had just been ripped away.

He pulled out his smartphone, dialed a direct, encrypted emergency number that hadn't been activated in five years.

"This is Adrian Whitmore," he barked into the phone, his voice cold enough to shatter glass. "I want every private satellite, every intelligence asset, and every federal contact I have activated immediately. Find that van. If a single hair on her head is harmed, I will hunt down everyone responsible until there is nothing left of their empire."

He didn't care about the company anymore. He didn't care about the billions in the bank. All that mattered was Grace.

Tracing the cloned license plates through traffic cameras across the Triborough Bridge, the private intelligence team finally pinpointed the van's last known location: an abandoned industrial warehouse district along the desolate waterfront of Queens.
