Chapter 14 - The Birth of Hope

"Medical team! We need a gurney right now!" Agent Vance shouted into his radio as panic erupted in the hallway outside the green room.
Two federal paramedics rushed into the room with an emergency medical kit and a portable stretcher.
"Her contractions are less than two minutes apart!" the lead paramedic announced after checking Valeria's vitals. "We can't transport her to the hospital—this baby is coming right now!"
The green room was instantly transformed into a makeshift delivery suite. Clean sheets were brought in, sterile equipment was unpacked, and Dr. Sarah Lin, who had been escorted to the studio by federal agents for safety, rushed into the room.
"Valeria, look at me," Dr. Lin said, kneeling at the end of the sofa. "You are strong, you are safe, and your mother is right here beside you. Focus on my voice!"
Elena knelt at the head of the couch, holding Valeria's upper body, brushing the hair from her sweating forehead. "I'm right here, my beautiful girl. Breathe with me. In... and out."
"I'm scared, Mom!" Valeria sobbed, holding onto Elena's arm with incredible strength. "What if she's too small? What if she isn't healthy?"
"She is a fighter, just like her mother and her grandmother," Elena whispered fiercely into her ear. "She was born out of courage, Valeria. She is going to be perfectly fine."
Outside the studio, news of Valeria going into labor broke across social media. Thousands of people gathered outside the Channel 9 headquarters holding candles, signs of support, and flowers, waiting anxiously for news of the child whose mother had survived against all odds.
"Push, Valeria! Push!" Dr. Lin instructed.
Valeria cried out, a sound of raw, triumphant effort echoing off the soundproof studio walls. Elena held her tightly, tears streaming down her own face, whispering prayers of strength into her daughter's ear.
With one final, desperate push, the heavy silence of the studio was shattered by a sharp, clear, beautiful sound that echoed through the room like music:
A newborn baby crying.
"It's a girl!" Dr. Lin announced, a radiant smile breaking across her face as she wrapped the tiny infant in a warm, sterile blanket and placed her gently onto Valeria's chest.
Valeria wept openly, holding her tiny daughter against her skin. The baby had a tuft of soft dark hair, delicate fingers, and a strong, healthy heart beat.
"She's beautiful..." Valeria sobbed, looking up at Elena. "Mom, look at her..."
Elena looked down at her newborn granddaughter, feeling a warmth flood her soul that banished every ounce of darkness from the brutal night behind them.

"What are you going to name her?" Mateo asked softly from the doorway, his eyes wet with tears.
Valeria looked at her mother, her eyes filled with profound love and gratitude. "Her name is Elena. Little Elena."
