Chapter 12 - Exposed on the Big Screen

The boardroom was dead silent save for the hum of the projector.

"This first document," Clara said, clicking a remote control, "shows forty million dollars in charitable donations meant for pediatric cancer care that were diverted over the past eighteen months into off-shore accounts in the Cayman Islands under the name *Apex Medical Holdings*."

Victoria Cole gasped, turning to look at Pendelton. "Apex Medical? Arthur, that’s the shell company you asked us to approve for equipment procurement!"

"It's a lie! Fabricated documents!" Pendelton shouted, his face turning bright red. "She forged them!"

"Let's look at the next slide," Clara continued smoothly, ignoring Pendelton’s outburst.

The screen shifted to live security footage from the sub-basement. It showed rows of locked cells, patients being dragged into rooms, and Dr. Harrison holding chemical syringes.

"This is Sub-Basement Wing 4," Clara explained, her voice heavy with deep emotion. "An unregistered, illegal clinical trial facility running right beneath our feet. Uninsured patients who came to our emergency room seeking help were turned away by compromised triage staff, declared missing, and brought down here to serve as human guinea pigs for unapproved drugs."

The board members stared at the video in utter horror. One woman covered her mouth, fighting back tears.

"And finally," Clara said, her tone dropping to a deadly whisper as a final document appeared on the screen, "this is the toxicology report for my four-year-old daughter, Lily."

The document highlighted the exact synthetic chemical compound found in Lily’s blood panel.

"Tonight, on my way to this hospital, my car was run off the road, and my daughter was poisoned with the exact same experimental chemical compound being tested in that basement," Clara stated, her eyes locking onto Julian, who was cowering on the floor. "Julian Sterling ordered that poisoning to keep me from reaching this room tonight."

"My God..." Victoria Cole whispered, her hands shaking as she turned to Julian. "You poisoned a child?"

"I... I didn't..." Julian stammered, his confidence completely destroyed. "Harrison... Harrison did it on his own!"

"The digital signature on the authorization order belongs to you, Julian," Marcus spoke up firmly, stepping beside Clara. "And I have already transmitted the unencrypted master server files directly to the FBI Federal Corruption Task Force."

At that exact moment, the faint sound of wailing sirens echoed from the street twelve floors below. Red and blue police lights began flashing against the rain-slicked windows of the boardroom.

"That would be the authorities," Clara said softly, leaning over the table toward Pendelton. "I believe your vote is canceled, Arthur."
