Chapter 15 - The Fallen Tycoon

The trading room was in total ruin. Alarms flashed red on Charles Vance’s terminals as automatic margin calls triggered across his prime broker accounts. Millions of dollars were disappearing every second, vaporizing his life's work in real time.
'Margin liquidated,' the automated computer voice announced coldly. 'Vance Global Logistics assets transferred to clearinghouse escrow.'
Charles collapsed into his leather armchair, staring blankly at the red numbers flashing across his screens. He was ruined. Not just broke—bankrupt, destroyed, buried under billions in unpayable debt.
Robert Hayes stood frozen by the window, his jaw hanging open. 'Charles... what about my money? What about my offshore accounts?'
Charles turned his head slowly, his eyes filled with venomous rage. 'You idiot! You brought this curse into my life! Your pathetic, brilliant son engineered this whole thing!'
Before Robert could reply, the heavy doors to Charles's corner office were pushed open.
Nathan Hayes walked in, flanked by Margaret and Sophia Vance. Behind them were four federal marshals and two SEC investigators.
Nathan looked around the chaotic office, his posture immaculate, his expression serene.
'Good morning, Mr. Vance,' Nathan said softly. 'Rough day on the market?'
Charles stood up slowly, shaking with fury, pointing a finger at his eldest daughter. 'Sophia... you traitorous snake! You helped him do this!'
'I didn't betray you, Father,' Sophia said with absolute calm. 'You betrayed this family when you turned Audrey into a weapon and used illegal money laundering to fund your empire. I just brought the truth to light.'
Special Agent Miller stepped forward, pulling out an arrest warrant. 'Charles Vance, you are under arrest for securities fraud, market manipulation, wire fraud, and extortion. You have the right to remain silent.'

As the marshals stepped forward to handcuff the disgraced tycoon, Charles glared at Nathan. 'You think you won, kid? You think this makes you a hero?'
Nathan met his glare without blinking. 'I don't care about being a hero, Charles. I care about protecting what’s mine. Take him away.'
