Chapter 25 - The Trial Begins

The final week before the wedding arrived, bringing glorious sunny weather and a whirlwind of joyful activity to Vance Manor.

Dozens of caterers, florists, and landscape artists worked diligently on the estate's sweeping lawns, setting up a magnificent white silk canopy, thousands of white roses, crystal chandeliers suspended from garden arches, and a glowing hardwood dance floor near the fountain.

Friends, family, and distinguished guests from across the country began arriving in the city. Director Marcus Thorne arrived with a contingent of Maya's former FBI colleagues, while corporate leaders and community members filled the local hotels.

On the eve of the wedding, Daniel gave a private rehearsal dinner in the grand dining hall—the very room that had once been shadowed by doubt.

The long dining table was decorated with glittering candlelight, fine porcelain, and crystal glasses filled with vintage champagne.

Arthur stood at the head of the table, holding a raised glass.

"A toast," Arthur declared, his deep voice filled with pride and emotion. "To Mr. Daniel Vance, a man of immense courage and loyalty. To young Master Noah, the bravest young man I have ever had the privilege to know. And to Agent Maya Miller, who brought truth, courage, and true love back into this house. May your lives be blessed with eternal happiness!"

"To Daniel and Maya!" the guests cheered in unison, clinking their glasses together.

Daniel stood up, holding Maya's hand, looking around the room filled with genuine friends and loved ones.

"Two years ago," Daniel spoke softly, his eyes sparkling in the candlelight, "I thought my life was over. I thought darkness had won. But truth has a way of breaking through even the thickest walls. Maya saved my family, but more than that, she showed us how to live again. I am the luckiest man on earth."

Maya looked up at him, her blue eyes shining with infinite love. "And I am the luckiest woman in the world."
