Chapter 28 - Cornered Beasts Play Dirty

The wedding reception on the grand lawn of Vance Manor lasted long into the starlit night.

The estate was transformed into a magical fairyland of twinkling lights, live orchestra music, and exquisite dining tables. Guests danced under the open autumn sky while children played safely around the illuminated stone fountains.

During the reception, Daniel took Maya by the hand, leading her out to the center of the hardwood dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife.

The orchestra began playing a classic, romantic ballad: *"At Last."*

Daniel held Maya close, his arm securely around her waist, while she rested her head gently against his chest as they swayed smoothly to the music.

"Are you happy, Mrs. Vance?" Daniel whispered gently into her ear.

"I have never been happier in my entire life, Mr. Vance," Maya replied softly, looking up into his loving eyes. "We built a real home out of broken pieces."

Noah ran over to the edge of the dance floor, pulling on Daniel's jacket tail. "Can I dance too?!"

Daniel laughed warmly, sweeping Noah up in his left arm while keeping his right arm around Maya, bringing all three of them together in a warm, swirling dance under the glittering stars.

The crowd of guests gathered around the dance floor, clapping and cheering for the radiant, beautiful family.
