Chapter 29 - The Final Reckoning

One year later.
The summer sun shone warmly over Vance Manor once again. The estate was filled with life, vibrant flower beds, and the joyful sounds of children playing in the backyard pool.
Vance Enterprises had achieved unprecedented success, becoming the leading sustainable development firm in the country. The Eleanor Vance Foundation had funded over fifty orphanages and youth protection centers worldwide.
Inside the mansion, the grand marble staircase—once the site of fear and treachery—was now decorated with beautiful family portraits, bright carpets, and child-proof safety gates.
On this warm June afternoon, six-year-old Noah was running down the stairs—carefully holding the polished wooden banister—wearing a big smile.
"Daddy! Maya! Come look!" Noah yelled excitedly, running into the bright sunroom.
Daniel sat on the plush sofa, holding a tiny newborn baby girl wrapped in a soft pink blanket—their newborn daughter, Eleanor Maya Vance, born just three weeks prior.
Maya sat beside Daniel, leaning against his shoulder, looking down at their beautiful baby girl with immense maternal warmth.
"Shh, Noah, gentle," Maya smiled sweetly, beckoning him over. "Your baby sister just fell asleep."
Noah tiptoed over on his toes, leaning down to gently kiss the baby girl's soft forehead. "Hi, little sister. I'm your big brother Noah. I'm gonna protect you forever."
Daniel put his arm around Maya and Noah, pulling his entire family close against his chest.
The sunroom windows offered a sweeping, breathtaking view of the estate’s blooming gardens, blue skies, and peaceful valley beyond.
